Payroll Change Request

A one-off modal became a hub-and-spoke system that handles 20+ payroll request types, with different compliance rules in each region.

Problem
Fragmented payroll updates with inconsistent backend logic caused frequent errors and heavy manual Ops work.
Objective
Turn a small feature request into a scalable system for 100% self-serve payroll, without compromising compliance across 185+ countries.
Impact
Fewer errors, higher self-serve adoption, and a lighter Ops workload, with a foundation for future expansion.
My role
Led the end-to-end system redesign, delivering a workflow framework that supports multiple changes in a single flow.

Design System Foundations

Problem
Brightway had colors, typography, and a few UI patterns, but no shared foundation for component governance, implementation, or growth.
Objective
Establish the first shared design system through semantic tokens, reusable components, Storybook documentation, and implementation workflows for multiple products.
Impact
Semantic tokens, expanded component patterns, and workflows that connect design and implementation.
My role
One of two senior designers. I define token architecture, expand component coverage, document in Storybook, and use Claude, Figma MCP, and Azure DevOps for implementation and review.

Invoice Generation

Problem
Legacy NetSuite invoicing couldn’t scale, causing errors, manual fixes, and inconsistent client billing.
Objective
Enable accurate, standardized invoices by moving calculations and validations into a new backend service.
Impact
Less manual intervention for Client Finance, better invoice accuracy, and scalable client-specific billing.
My role
Designed the Client Finance experience in the Global Workforce Platform for starting invoice generation across the new service and NetSuite.

Design a central marketplace where analysts can search, evaluate, and access trusted data products.

My role
Led research and design iterations, turning analyst mental models into clearer search, filtering, and data-detail experiences.

  • Led the redesign of the core payroll change workflow across 185+ countries, replacing a fragmented modal with a hub-and-spoke system supporting 20+ request types and multiple compliance rules per region.
  • Ran discovery workshops with PM, Ops, and Engineering to map automation dependencies and compliance constraints, and scoped an MVP that balanced Ops relief with a self-serve roadmap.
  • Designed and shipped an internal Payroll Calendar tool that replaced manual spreadsheets, and defined UX requirements for a $32.5M ARR product vertical.

Hi, I’m Hannah.

I’m a Senior Product Designer focused on simplifying complex systems, from global payroll and invoicing to data-heavy internal tools. I specialize in multi-persona workflows, rules-driven platforms, and projects where clarity and structure unlock real operational impact.

At Velocity Global, I designed payroll, invoicing, and benefits experiences that turned manual, compliance-heavy processes into self-serve tools used across 185+ countries. Before that, I led design for JPMorgan’s internal data marketplace, helping analysts explore and access enterprise data more efficiently.

Across roles, I bring systems thinking, strong cross-functional alignment, and a love for designing order out of complexity. I studied Advertising at Syracuse University.
